I believe, partly through experience, that sincerity, love, true people, and peace exist. It's not found outside ourselves. It's inside. Wholesome thoughts, right views, reveal the garden inside our hearts and then we see the world as the reflections of our hearts. This Truth is not limited to any religion, happiness belongs to all. This is my mind you're entering, be prepared for anything......

Graduation To-Do List
- Find a place to live.
- That is to pack and move my stuffs from my room and SPS back to home and the next place I'll live in Singapore. Do this before 28th April.
- Next determine the dates I'll be in Singapore or Malaysia during the next few months and decide where and when do I get a place to live in.
- Ask around for the places to live.
- Find a job.
- This is primary to finish the bond and loans.
- For 3 years, I'll be doing something I like, not dislike, my no.1 condition for a job.
- Options: T.A. (do the application before I leave), R.A. (talk to people before I leave), Buddhist Jobs? (I'll still be quite active in it anyway)
- Play
- Marvel: Avengers Alliance is my main game now,
- Pokemon trading should be done within a few days,
- Movie nights upcoming in SPS.
- Finish up Fringe, and continuing on Avengers, Earth Mightiest Heroes, One Piece, Big Bang Theory and How I Met Your Mother.

Preface to My Final Year Project
Thomas Precession: A Fibre Bundle Approach
The understanding of fibre bundles is essential for any theoretical physicists who are serious in thinking about the Standard Model, String Theory and beyond. That is my main motivation in choosing this project. At the end of this project, after applying fibre bundles to describe Thomas Precession, I started to wonder if this can be the start of a simple way of teaching young budding Physicists about fibre bundles. It would be one of the first few steps before progressing into quantum eld theories of gauge invariance. And yet, before
taking on this project, I had no idea that there is such a thing as Thomas Precession. So maybe it would be simple, provided that undergraduates can read this thesis and understand it.
If you need to brush up on Differential Geometry, Lie Groups, Coset Manifolds and Fibre Bundles, by all means do skim through the appendix, as it will be heavily referenced in the main paper. I would like to take this page to acknowledge the unfailing, dedicated, patient care of Dr. Kuldip Singh towards making sure that I understand this relatively di fficult branch mathematics and seeing me through the project. I had learned in this one year what most undergraduates will not: the foundations for theoretical and mathematical Physics. In this project also, I learn to see the motivation for solving a problem from the mathematical point of view instead of always asking for a physical connection. As well as the way a mathematical Physicist work.
My gratefulness extends to the Special Programme in Science (SPS), for providing such a nice and comfortable environment, both physically and socially not only for the duration of the writing of this thesis, but also for the whole of my four years being an undergraduate. Not to forget is University Scholars Programme (USP) for providing the opportunity during my final year to stay in the same building as my supervisor, making it easy to ask for guidance.
A special mention to the NUS Physics Department for having such a wide and interesting range of topics for research, and to Prof. Valerio Scarani for arranging for the Physics Honours Projects of the academic year 2011/12. Also thanks to the whole National University of Singapore for providing my undergraduate education, in one more step towards the expansion of the human knowledge, starting from the expansion of one individual.

Make It Right For A Better Ride

These days I go to the public transportation bringing a book or my Nintendo DSi, playing Pokemon Black. I was self-absorbed, yet almost always go to the center of the train and stood up to let someone else sit, even while reading my book. Even when I am most of the time unstable while standing up and frequently had to use one of my hand to stabilize myself and only one other hand to read.Fortunately I am very experienced in reading with one hand. When I put my book down however, and look around, I see something very typical of Singaporeans. There was the seats that was reserved for the needy and about half of the time, young people sit there. Well, of course if there was a real case of need, they do sit up and let those pregnant, old people, disabled, or injured to sit there. Sometimes I even see old people sat up to give way for pregnant ones. As usual, most people are oblivious to this situation.
"This is normal." We think, no praises, no smile to the one who gave, only the ones who benefit directly care to smile, and then avert their gaze for the rest of the journey. Smiling, the thing I always put on my face and I keep on putting it and looking at people in the MRT straight in the eye. Most of them averted my gaze. Almost none of them smiled. The laughter and happiness that I can hear are of those teenagers or young adults talking and happily being in their own world, or the rare family who are happily playing with their children. Most of those who have kids were too busy making sure their kids shut up and behave during the train ride. Too busy making sure their kids do not offend the stranger sitting right beside them.
As if everyone you don't know behaves like a gangster to you. As if anyone can blame parents for teaching kids to be careful. Yet, this is the world where teenagers prefer to sat up even when there were empty seats, not just those priority seats, but perfectly empty seats where it is morally not wrong to sit down on them. Yet they prefer to stand up. How could those people who go beyond the boundaries of morality to beyond being polite be anything close to a gangster? How could Singapore with its low crime rate and zero tolerance towards drug harbor anything but mostly good and kind citizens of Singapore?
Yet when I look around, people do not recognize this. They do not think of others to be as virtuous as themselves. They still see those who do not let their seats to the needy, they still say go to the center of the train, they still see images of children reminding them to give way. No wonder my friends were not proud of the catchy song of "train is coming, train is coming." nor do they talk about the video of Phua Chu Kang singing to be gracious. Not that they know about all these consciously, but it is the subconscious mind being reminded that: most of these other people are not so gracious, so there's no reason to smile at them.
How I think our journeys can be made better if more people can be more considerate and gracious? I think our journey can be made better if people just stop looking at the negative side of things. Most of us already subconsciously put in the rules of being gracious into our heads. However it is impossible to smile at a stranger if we still think of them as being not gracious. The only thing we have to change is to think in the positive way.
Praise those who give way, smile whenever there is an eye contact (I know I feel weird and would look away if some stranger does that to me, but still I felt good that there is someone out there that shares my thoughts), generally open up and let the MRT be the heart of Singapore. Open up to talk to people you would never meet again in this life, open up to smile at strangers who most probably is not used to thinking of you as a good guy to smile back.
And start these kinda campaign: Look at the person beside you and smile, because they are doing their best in being gracious. Be glad to live in a society where everyone behaves heavenly.

Pokemon Black and White 2
Well then, let's use some deduction ability and my hopes for the new games over here. The 2 implies that it's a sequel, so if it starts all over again, from the beginning as if it is just an improved version of Black and White, then it stinks. Pokemon Gray can do that, as there is a whole history of the 3 bundle games for each generations, but Black and White 2, should have the player to own a Black or White game first.
Then instead of the slow transfer of 6 Pokemon at a time to the new game, the save file and all Pokemon from the previous versions should be able to be transferred at a one time transfer, bringing forward every items and records from the previous Black/White games too. To avoid the need of having 2 DS for this, the Save file can be downloaded from the dreamworld itself. (Although this would mean a lot of traffic online and some possible errors and cheats from hackers)
Or the game card can be like an Action Replay game card, so one has to put the Black and White game into the Black and White 2 (bigger game card) slot and then put it together to play. Black and White 2 if designed like this should then allow the new players who doesn't have Black and White to buy them and play it out from the beginning, while for the old ones, we can just transfer everything over. In this case, there should be new maps to explore. And ranging from the most greedy to the most basic, they should include every single map of the Pokemon world, Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, Sinnoh, Sevii Islands, and Orange Islands, or just at least just one more new area for gym or contest battles.
Well, if they make the Black and White 2 to have a game card that can read other game cards, the possibility to put in the other Generation 4 Pokemon games would be nice to add in! This way, we can venture into the old maps with new 5th Gen Pokemon! Or even complete the Pokemon Transfer to the 5th Generation by transferring all of the pokemon at once instead of 6 at a time. This time I don't mind having to replay the gyms for the previous generation games. So if this happens, all they needed to add in for Black and White 2 is the Hoenn and Sevii (possibly Orange?) regions to make the Pokemon world complete!
Now that would compel an old timer to buy the sequels, and encourage the new players to buy the old games. I would assume that White 2 is needed for those with Black and Black 2 is needed for those with White. Well, I think it can be made so that it doesn't matter that the sequel needs to follow or anti-follow the previous games.
Some of the game mechanics I hope to see reintroduced is the battle contest, pokeathlon, and of course, the lead pokemon following you around! Plus the ability to make Poffin, Apricon Juice, and others....
The Black and White Kyurem might mean that Kyurem can change forms and those forms are available only in White 2 and Black 2 respectively, not too different from Deoxys' form changing from FireRed, LeafGreen, Ruby/Sapphire, and Platinum. However, this might be disappointing for most of us, as we would want to see them all. So maybe Kyurem would change form depending on the item held or perhaps with some strange interaction with Zekrom or Reshiram. And if it is items, then the item should be unique and found only in the respective games.
The most interesting part is that if Kyurem's different forms are a result of some machine that can combine 2 pokemons, then the different splicing work done over the years by many fans are able to be of use now. For we can combine any two pokemon and perhaps even choose the types available to 2 types! I don't know how evolution, move learning or separation would work then. But Smogon University would be really really busy classifying and analyzing every single combination! Most likely it wouldn't happen like this, too much work! Seriously 649 times 648= 420552. Insane work and insane amount of battle mechanics.
Well, at least we know we'll get to see the story of where Ghetsis had gone to, what does the underwater ruins sayings means, and the story about Kyurem's original form. Hopefully, they throw in the last 3 Legendaries of the Unova region. Or at least give it out via Wi-fi or Dream World as promotional pokemon!

NUS Module Review: SP2170 - Doing Science (retired)
Content
With a different lecture each week and fun IS, along with the free S/U, this module introduces one to the world of scientific research and does it very well with the system of 3rd and 4th year students as mentors to guide the first year students.
Assessment and workload
Completely S/U, as long as you attend the lectures and IS, do the experiments and homework, plus one self-designed experiment, you'll guaranteed to pass. Well it does has the reputation of making people sleep over at SPS room to rush for homework!
Personal experience
The best module in NUS! Slackest amongst SPS modules too! Sweet memories!
